Virtual Reality in Visual Arts | Tina Sauerlaender

For some years Virtual Reality has been making its way into artistic practice. Artists from all fields, including painting, sculpture and performance art, discover the medium for their work. In her talk, Berlin-based curator Tina Sauerlaender introduces the history of immersion, the development of the medium of virtual reality and its application in the field of fine arts including her own curatorial practice and Radiance VR, an international platform for artistic VR experiences.

Tina Sauerlaender is a curator and writer based in Berlin. She focuses on the impact of the digital and the internet on individual environments and society. With her exhibition hub peer to space she has been organizing international group shows, e.g The Unframed World. Virtual Reality as Artistic Medium for the 21st Century at HeK Basel in 2017. She is co-founder of RadianceVR.co, an online platform for artistic VR experiences, and co-founder of the co-founder of MiRAA.org, an online education platform for VR and AR in the arts.
